JobKeeper changes commencing 28 September 2020 have passed Parliament
Yesterday the Federal Parliament passed the legislation to extend the JobKeeper scheme.
In due course, we will obtain a copy of the legislation which will contain the detail. According to the media reports, the legislation passed is in line with the announcements made on Friday 7 August, 2020. Please refer to our website article "JobKeeper Extension - Changes announced on Friday 7 August 2020" for a summary of those announcements.
To be eligible for the extension of the JobKeeper scheme, amongst other things, your business GST turnover for July to September 2020 must have declined by at least 30% compared with your GST turnover from July to September 2019. Last month, you should have received an email from us advising you of your GST turnover for July to September 2019. If you did not, please let us know and we will get this information across to you.
If we are attending to the monthly JobKeeper wage subsidy claims on behalf of your business, we will contact you in the latter part of this month to discuss the extension of the JobKeeper scheme.
If we are not attending to the monthly JobKeeper wage subsidy claims on behalf of your business, please let us know if you require our assistance with the extension of the JobKeeper scheme.
